Cavallaro's Cavalcade of Carnage
I still think the best way for a reader to become acquainted with an author that they've never read before is via short story collection.

Which is exactly how I've made my acquaintance with Adam Light.

Here lies 11 stories from Light which range from the straight up bizarre ("Vengeance by the Foot"), to the Twilight zone-esque "Panacea."

However, my two favorites from the collection are:

"Trick 'Em All," which reminds me of Norman Partridge's Dark Harvest, in the best way possible.

-and-

"Ghost Light Road," which is a brilliant example of subverting the reader's expectations.

Light shows some promise here, but ultimately too many of the stories only had a superficial grip on me. Thanks to both Erin Sweet Al-Mehairi and Corpus Press for the opportunity to review this collection.
