I'm only doing this because I promised I'd review all of these.
If you were doing something important and want to skip to the end: I'm not recommending any of these.
Tethered to Darkness by Justin Holley
This was the best of the three. It's a solid possession story, with no obvious faults. However, I couldn't help but notice that I had no problem putting the book down, and had to talk myself into picking it back up.
Grade: C
The Saga of Dead-Eye, Book One by Ronald Kelly
This was my least favorite of the three, which surprised me because I generally like Kelly's work. Maybe the splatter westerns aren't for me; I've disliked most of them. However, Kelly's collection, The Essential Sick Stuff, is required reading for the extreme horror people.
Grade: D
Nocturnal Pursuits by Glenn Rolfe
This is the new collection from Rolfe. There are a few stand-out stories: "The Guide," which is a heartfelt supernatural story. "Everett" is an evil doll story with a wonderfully nasty ending, and "Mourning Pictures," which is another melancholy supernatural tale of friendship. The rest of the stories are forgettable.
