Cavallaro's Cavalcade of Carnage
Only one month to go, and it's time for the "Best of the Year" lists!

I read 9 books in November. This was the best one:

Sundial by Catriona Ward

If you have read and enjoyed her previous work, The Last House on Needless Street, I'm here to tell you that SHE HAS DONE IT AGAIN. This is another twisty, well-written, and fun book to read. But you will have to wait until March 1st suckas!!

And this was the worst one:

The Saga of Dead-Eye, Book One by Ronald Kelly

Look....I really do like Kelly's stuff. I just couldn't get into this one, and honestly, I'm having a hard time getting into ANY of the splatter westerns that seem to be gaining popularity.

The rest:

The Black Monday Murders
by Jonathan Hickman (graphic novel). Complex and unique, but not for me. Grade: C

The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah. Second-best book of the month; a VERY close second. Grade: A

Attack From the 80s edited by Eugene Johnson (anthology). Some good, some bad. Ultimately...average. Grade: C

Echo by Thomas Olde Heuvelt. Not as good as Hex. Grade: C

Tethered to Darkness by Justin Holley. No obvious faults, but not particularly exciting either. Grade: C

The Magic Fish by Trung le Nguyen (graphic novel). Wonderful coming-of-age story. Grade: B

Nocturnal Pursuits by Glenn Rolfe (collection). No great stories, a few good ones, and a bunch of forgettable ones. Grade: C

Annual best-of lists next month!
