Cavallaro's Cavalcade of Carnage
I had a great time at AuthorCon this month, and I also got a ton of reading done (15!). Let's go!

BEST OF THE MONTH: The Changeling by Victor Lavalle

This one has been on my list for a few years and I've finally gotten around to it. I really should be ashamed of myself. I liked The Ballad of Black Tom, but The Changeling is a dark fantasy masterpiece. That's all you need to know.

WORST OF THE MONTH: Devil in the Darkness by Archie Roy

I remember nothing about this book.

The rest:

Dear Laura by Gemma Amor. Reminded me of the film, The Vanishing. Grade: B
There is No Antimemetics Division by qntm. What the hell is this? Grade: D
Almost Ruth by Tyler Jones. Forgettable. Grade: D
The Final Reconciliation by Todd Keisling. Heavy metal horror! Grade: C
Family Solstice by Kate Maruyama. Intriguing premise. Grade: C
The Eater of Gods by Dan Franklin. Debut! Good job Dan. Grade: B
Pulp by Ed Brubaker (graphic novel). Probably my fave Brubaker. Grade: B
Abbott 1973 by Saladin Ahmed (graphic novel). I preferred the original run. Grade: C
The Ghost That Ate Us by Daniel Kraus. Unique, but not one of my Kraus faves. Grade: C
Clown in a Cornfield 2: Frendo Lives by Adam Cesare. Another hit from Cesare. Grade: B
Something is Killing the Children by James Tyrion IV (graphic novel). Excellent horror comic! Grade: A
The Grief Hole by Kaaren Warren. Not bad, but I'm not recommending it. Grade: C
Wormwood by Poppy Z Brite (collection). Some good stuff in here, but I'm enjoying her novels more. Grade: C
