Cavallaro's Cavalcade of Carnage
Here is an anthology(?) from Crystal Lake Publishing, out on August 26th.

3 novellas for the price of one!

The Strangest Twist Upon Her Lips by Chad Lutzke
My Only Sunshine by Robert Ford
Suet by John Boden

Let's start with the opening act, which also happens to be the best performance of the night. Lutzke's The Strangest Twist Upon Her Lips. The story is a simple one, so I really don't want to give anything away. If you've read Chad, you know what to expect.

Next up is My Only Sunshine by Robert Ford. More heartbreak in this one. I'm sensing a theme. This is first pass at a Robert Ford story, unless you count Cattywampus (co-written with John Boden). There is certainly nothing wrong with it. It just didn't have the emotional impact that I felt with Chad's novella.

And last, we have Boden's Suet. I like Boden's work, but I connected with this one the least. It's certainly the weirdest of the three, and I wonder if that aspect took me out of the story a little.

Remember: out on August 26th!
