Kyle Lybeck's Literary Lair
A group of six good friends decide to take a weekend trip into the mountains to get away from the daily hustle and bustle. When they come upon surprise inclement weather, they try and trudge on. In the midst of the blistering snow, a figure appears ahead of their Jeep leaving them no chance to react appropriately, sending their vehicle down a sharp embankment. Where they end up can barely be seen between the flakes by anything around them and many are injured, some seriously.

When a few members of their party decide to go into the storm to try and find refuge, the rest prepare to hunker down in the Jeep for the night. To their surprise, a cabin is found and they pack up their belongings to seek shelter within its old walls. What they don't expect is what else could be with them in the storm, and what may have followed them towards the cabin. Something that leaves heated footsteps in the snow. Something that is undetectable even a foot away from them. What is out in the blizzard that they could not have prepared for, and how much time do they have to make it out alive?

It's been a while since I've read a book by David, but I've always liked his writing. It has fun ideas, creepy occurrences, and typically keeps you not wanting to put the book down. I read this one in two sittings and while it did keep my attention throughout, there were some slow parts and taxing points of dialogue that hindered the flow at times. I did enjoy the book, just maybe not as much as past reads from him.

Overall I'd give this one a B-.
