I haven't done the DVD announcements in a while, because so little of interest has been coming out. I'll try to do it more often.

Sucker Punch The suckers were the ones that bought tickets to this mess.

Season of the Witch This week's new Nicholas Cage release looks like it's even worse than Drive Angry.

Zombie Holocaust
Known as Dr. Butcher MD to me back in the VHS days, this is a combination Blu-Ray/DVD set from Shriek Show, who inexplicably is still in business.

The Nesting Also known as Maniac Mansion. This 1981 feature is a mixture of ghost story and gore picture. With John Carradine. Blue Underground delivers it, so you know it will be a quality presentation.

Nightmares Not to be confused with the notorious gore classic, this is a so-so anthology movie. Severin Films has packaged it to make it seem like Romano Scavolini's Nightmare. An okay little film, but not worth a whole lot of cash. Directed by Joseph Sargent, who did better movies like Tribes, The Taking of Pelham 1-2-3, and even White Lightning.

The Baby Also from Severin, this 1973 oddity is worth a look. Netflix it if you're interest. I wouldn't call it a mandatory purchase.

Bloody Birthday Still more 'classic' exploitation from Severin. This '81 slasher is inept, but watchable. Again, not worthy of a purchase.

Live Like a Cop Die Like a Man Ruggero Deodato! You need to know more? This is a violent crime thriller. Thank you, Raro Video, for bringing this to us. Now can we hope to see The Barbarians in the near future? Please?

Music Video Exposed: The Groundbreaking Videos of Russell Mulcahy Mulcahy made some good movies like Razorback and Highlander, but he was also a music video pioneer. This disc is a look behind his career in the medium, plus it has full-length videos Mulcahy made for The Buggles, Duran Duran, Culture Club, and Spandau Ballet. Cool, but no Tubes? The full-length video Mulcahy did for The Completion Backward Principle was amazing. They could have at least used Talk To Ya Later.
