Is it just me, or are we not talking about Sarah Pinborough enough? 
With BEHIND HER EYES, she finally received some international respect that she's always deserved. With 13 MINUTES, she proves that her success is no fluke.
Yes, 13 MINUTES is a young adult novel, and yes, it does have a Mean Girls-esque plot. Don't let this fool you into thinking this isn't a hard-hitting story. It isn't all Prom and sparkly nail polish at this high school, there IS some darkness here...
The book is a pitch-perfect slice of female teen angstand if you guys liked BEHIND HER EYES, you will recognize the masterful, slow reveal of the mystery and the automatic page turns that we all relish here. THE DEATH HOUSE, BEHIND HER EYES, THE LANGUAGE OF DYING, and now 13 MINUTES. What a winning streak! I can only assume she is incapable of writing an average book.
