Kyle Lybeck's Literary Lair
Tricia, Alex, and Sam are youngsters living in a small town. Within the town dwells a forest; one that seems non-threatening at first sight, but holds a deep, dark secret within. Sam has a bad life at home with his mother and in an attempt to escape, finds himself walking directly in the mouth of the forest. What he finds will haunt them all for decades to come.

Now twenty years later, Tricia and Alex have formed an undeniable bond. They both want to know what happened to their friend that fateful day; to have closure on the hardest time in their life. What they find though won't only tear their lives to pieces, but the fabric of time itself.

In this latest novel from Michaelbrent Collings comes an interesting tale, unlike ones I have read from him in the past. The character buildup is a little slow for my tastes, and the resulting scenarios throughout come across as longwinded. While a good plot to the story, I feel like one that could have been a little tighter to create a more fast-paced offering for the reader. Overall I'd give it a B-, and want to thank Michaelbrent for allowing me to read an advanced copy.
