(The whole farm subplot could have been excised, and it wouldn't have mattered a bit.), and had the usual undercooked bad-guys.
Totally agree on the undercooked bad guys, but I loved the farm sequence. Yeah, it could have been shortened, but I think they needed to have some version of it there, just to illustrate the family narrative, and what Charles and Logan have lost, and what could be with Laura.
I see your point about the farm sequence, but all I could think of is "These people are going to die horribly, just to add more guilt onto Logan's already considerable burden." It would have worked better for me if he had managed to save them, somehow.
This is one of those times where I feel like an X film could have really benefited by being a part of the Marvel cinematic universe. The film would have had a lot more weight if they had been able to more closely follow the OLD MAN LOGAN storyline. Just my opinion...hope I haven't lost friends or alienated people over it.
