No, the duty/taxes are one thing. Thats ok, I'll pay those. I mean, if I buy something here I pay those anyway, so thats really not a big deal. Its UPS I have the problem with. They charge you brokerage fees for anything they ship across the border. And I mean HUGE brokerage fees. If anything is sent from the US by United States postal service, there are NO brokerage fees. None. So its just a big scam by UPS, so I won't buy anything where the only option is to ship by UPS. It sucks. But most places don't use UPS, or at least give you an option to choose USPS instead of UPS. But Cafepress unfortunately doesn't.
I was going to get some stuff, and I also wanted a couple things of Beth Massies but I can't now. Unfortunately, Cafepress only ships UPS. Now, if you live in the US that isn't a problem, but in Canada it is. UPS has this nasty habit of charging you 'customs brokerage' fees for everything coming across the border. Now I don't mind paying a few $ but they are just ridiculous. I bought a book from someone who would only ship UPS...once. The book was about $25.00. UPS charges were $22.00. Never again.
it happened to me too with cafepress, i had to go to the general posting office and pay another £7.00 to get my parcel, it won't stop me buying a horror-drive in shirt when I get some free pennies, do you have a banner? I would love to have one on my site - send it me here jackiecoupe@btinternet.com - I like your style!
