Chris did a fantastic job and it's a fitting memorial, that's as much as I could ever have asked.

I found out the horror small press existed because of Cemetery Dance and Matt Schwartz's horror site (forget what it was called) back in the day. Before that, it was all mass market for me and still is for the most part.

All I'd ask of a small press is professionalism. I've seen some horrendous productions because, basically, anyone with a few extra bucks can be a small press.

Cutter, it is genuine leather, genuine gold as in gold gold, etc. There's not a single corner skimped on it. Basically what happened, as Danny alluded to up there, my college girlfriend and best friend for maybe 4 years of my life, hung herself a while back, and when I found out about it I was hit pretty hard, and suddenly worried that everything I remembered would some how fade and go and there'd be nothing... so I took a month off writing for money and wrote 30,000 words all about  our time together, stuff we did, little odd memories that came back to me, then got Chris to put the book together and sent copies to her two sisters and her parents. The pictures don't come close to doing his creation justice. And now I don't have to worry about forgetting.

A book most of us will probably never read no matter how curious we are, and that is okay.  A book written just for those involved including yourself.  That is amazing Steve.

Thanks mate, and yeah, no one will get to read it save those who knew Vicky, and that's pretty much the way it should be. I also suspect it is probably the very best thing I have ever written because it has serious heart... but again, it's just there for a few people who'll connect with its heart.

Anyway, back to what you'd want from a small press...

...the only thing we will have read is the little bit about that summer... that we can read in the picture.

I can tell that is a bittersweet (or maybe just the sweet) rememberance of the past, and it probably is an awesome section of your writing.  I am glad you were able to do that.

I think it is ultra cool that a publisher can do that.

Yeah, coz that boy Chris picked a page to hold open heh... and nah, ALL of the memories of that summer, and that week living together age 18, well, they go in the good section.

I'm just glad you liked it, Steve. :-) Let me know when you're ready to make up that special copy of Silver. :-)

Thanks for all the compliments on the production, folks. I appreciate that. Vicky is still one of my favs and it's one of those books, even if it is small is stature, it catches people's eye every time.

I seem to have derailed this thread though, my apologies.
