But Cutter.... Buick 8 (though not a definitive part) fit right into the Gunslinger universe, so for me it was like a chapter out of that..  The Colorado Kid, for me, just went nowhere.
Well, I agree they are very different and From a Buick 8 is more exciting, but the style of the book is the same I felt. In one book we are trying to find out what happened to a dead man, and in another we are trying to find out what the hell is coming out of the car. In both instances at the end of the story we really don't know any conclusions about either. But the fun was in the retelling of past events that were mysterious and you were trying to piece it together. That's what I'm referring to.

btw, I kinda felt like From a Buick 8 was Lovecraftian in style, unnameable horrors, lol. But I agree it could have been the Gunslinger universe, especially something like the wastelands book.

Yeah, it's part of the DT series.

At the beginning of THE DARK TOWER, King writes in bold the books that are connected to it, and FROM A BUICK 8 is one of them.

Ah, I've never read heart's in Atlantis, so I was ignorant of that information.

Like I said, having already read the Gunslinger Series and Hearts in Atlantis, books that others didn't like as much, such as Buick 8 and Insomnia were better for me.
