I'm about ready to push the BUY button at Amazon on a stack of King trades, but was wondering if I could get some feedback here first?

Anyone read THE DARK TOWER and THE STAND series?

I'll be honest.  My King collection is reserved to only things he's written.  It's one reason why I'm having trouble pulling the trigger on these.  I have faith in Robin Furth, though.  And PAD, of course.

Anyone - DANNY - give me a rec or review?

You know, I think I'm wanting someone to talk me out of these.  Haha!  Like I mentioned, I only collect King written works.  So...

I'm so tempted, though.

Loved the dark tower/gunslinger comics but i would advise you getting them issue by issue because i heard the the TPB's have a lot of material cut from them.

I read the first DT story arc, and loved it.  The artwork is amazing, and it's a pretty good adaptation of parts of THE GUNSLINGER and WIZARD AND GLASS.

I have the second one too, but I haven't read it yet.

Shoot me a PM with your address, Trever, and I'll put it in the mail this week.

I've only read the first few issues of the first GUNSLINGER series......I've been buying them all, but I'm waiting until the series is done to read them all in one big marathon. the issues I read were pretty good, even though I have almost zero interest in reading about young Roland.
I thought the first two arc's of THE STAND were phenomenal, but I dropped the book because I've read the novel so many times that it just seemed like I was throwing money away. The art is amazing, though, and the adaptation is extremely faithful.
I have no interest in THE TALISMAN...Maybe when it's collected.

Yea the TPB's have just the comic arc, but if you buy the single issues there is a section at the end of each issue that Robin explains the Dark Tower cannon. Personally I feel these are the most exciting parts of the comic. You'll miss this stuff if you buy the TPB's.

The Stand is just the comic arc, so if you buy the collected TPB's your getting exactly what's in the single issues.

Just to throw my 2 cents out there, I find them ok, nothing more.

Andy: Thanks!  But I already have the first trade.  My brother bought it for me in Christmas 2008.  And I haven't even taken it out of its wrap, yet!  Yes, I'm a bad bro.

Danny: I've been thinking about waiting to read them all in one fell swoop, too.  But I have weak willpower!  HA!

MisterCrowley and Cutter: Thanks for the feeback!  It's much appreciated.

I think I've decided to drop $100 on a pair of King reference books.  The comics look good, but I'm a sucker for King bibliographies.
