RIP - Corey Haim

To be honest, I hadn't really thought of him in years ... but I did like him in LOST BOYS and SILVER BULLET.

38 years old, apparent drug overdose.

Ah shit.  That's terrible.  I liked a fair amount of his movies from back in the day (I even had a soft spot for LICENSE TO DRIVE).

What a shame.

Yeha, I show License to drive to everyone who hasn't seen it.  Damn, that really sucks

Here's one really short article about the death
http://omg.yahoo.com/news/teen-idol-corey-haim-dies-at-38/37184?nc... "...died at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday of an accidental overdose."

If you play with fire you're bound to get burned.

Sadly, I don't find this to be surprising news.

For as few decent roles that he had, he'll always be Lucas to me.

Quite true, unfortunately.  The guy's had problems for as long as I can remember.  I guess I just always hope these guys can kick the habit someday.....but it didn't happen for Haim.

Still sad the way another young guy got eaten by the hollywood machine. Lost Boys for me, seminal movie of my growing up days.

For me, THE LOST BOYS hasn't aged very well.  It's still a decent watch, though.

Another of my favorites was MURPHY'S ROMANCE with Sally Field and James Garner.  I especially like the scene, natch, where they go to see F13 Part 3.

Sad news. Sure, he and The Other Corey became jokes, but they both were seminal parts of most of our childhoods. I loved Lucas and Silver Bullet and The Lost Boys. License to Drive was good fun. I even liked Watchers.

You're a stronger man than I.

And did anyone catch Corey's bit scene in CRANK 2?  I didn't even know he was in it (I'm not a CRANK fan).

Ah, love that film.  For some reason, I always connect that one w/ DOC HOLLYWOOD...I'm a sucker for those '80s comedies that had the big-city person floundering in the homespun country like a fish out of water, and those two were my favorites.

I loved Northern Exposure, too...probably no big surprise.

Damn, I grew up watching his movies; dude wasn't that much older than me.

The Lost Boys still remains one of my favourite movies from the '80s, and I have a soft spot for License to Drive and Dream a Little Dream.

And I remember as a kid, seeing Murphy's Romance and when they went to see F13 3, I about wet myself with excitement - a F13 movie mentioned in a mainstream Hollywood romantic comedy???
